  <title>West Indies have a point to prove</title>
  <link>http://www.westindiescricket.org/News/article/sid=16.html</link>
<description>West Indies’ tour of England has guaranteed expectations for the ICC World Twenty20 to have been lowered. The Test series and Twenty20 wins over the same opposition earlier in the year suggested the recent progression under John Dyson and Chris Gayle was building towards a successful Twenty20 campaign.

The last month has diluted this optimism. Apparently short of motivation and focus and certainly short of form, the nine wicket hammering by England in the final warm-up game summed up the tour to date.

A tough draw has not helped their prospects over the next two weeks. The poor performance in 2007, when they left South Africa without winning a game, has ensured a low seeding that means they are grouped with Australia and Sri Lanka.

This should obviously not be a barrier to progress to the Super Eight stage. West Indies are the least experienced major Twenty20 team, but they have adapted quickly to the format and have lost only one of their four matches played over the last year against Australia, New Zealand and England.</description>
